MODERATION IN ALL THINGS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!
How I got here
I was lucky to be raised in a family that embraced wellness and moderation. My father was a dentist who taught me that our mouths are the gateway to our entire body’s health. My mother always made sure we had delicious, balanced meals, and a diet without too much added sugar. Together, my parents always kept the family moving, and they instilled in me a love of the outdoors. An active lifestyle and whole-health habits were always the name of the game.
29 years ago, I chose a career in wellness, becoming a Dental Hygienist. I’ve spent my entire career at the same practice. In that time, I’ve had an integrated approach to care, developing close relationships with my patients and digging into their individual needs. I continue to work as a dental hygienist, and I love working with people to improve their overall health along the way.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I realized that I could do more: I could help people come out of the crisis stronger than when they went in.
I started Maven of Moderation because I thrive on that moment went clients connect great habits and behaviors with specific wellness goals. There’s a confidence people get from shifting their mindsets and making a change -- no matter how big or small. Helping people on their journey of self-improvement feeds my soul.
I live my life in moderation. I don’t eat outrageous amounts of chocolate, but I don’t deny myself the simple pleasure of an occasional [insert favorite chocolate here] either. Living in a balanced way allows people to enjoy life and helps them stay true to their long-term health goals.
It takes bravery to seek help, and I appreciate how vulnerable it can feel to work with a health coach. I consider it an honor to help my clients, and I always approach my work with honesty and compassion.
I have extensive training and education in the field of health coaching. Whether I’m asking high-mileage questions, digging into an individual’s unique situation, offering up a healthy recipe, or providing just the right tools at just the right time, I can help my clients continue to move forward.
Resilience and Optimism
Watching my father fight Parkinson’s Disease taught me about the power of a positive mindset. After his diagnosis, my father lived another 28 years! I’ve seen what can happen with a little grit and determination. It takes time to develop new habits and mindsets, and I’m my clients’ biggest cheerleader along their journey.
